Daily reasons to quit your job and go your own way
Because your licensing authority is incompetent
You need a licence to do your work.
Every year, you need to meet certain requirements to keep your licence.
Your licensing authority adminsters these requirements with Kafkaesque obliqueness.
They can’t tell you precisely what the requirements are.
The requirements change arbitrarily, even when their account of the requirements remains the same.
Their account of the requirements changes arbitrarily, even when the requirements themselves remain the same.
The only time you’re able to find out what the requirements are is when, not knowing what they are, you fail to meet them, and you receive a letter saying that your licence has been revoked.
If you were as incompetent as the licensing authority, you’d lose your licence, you’d lose your job, you’d lose your career.
The only consequences of the licensing authority’s being as incompetent as it is, however, is that you and your colleagues lose your licences, lose your jobs, lose your careers.
