Daily reasons to quit your job and go your own way
Because your hourly pay isn’t what you think it is
You’ve probably done the calculation: to find your hourly pay, you divide your salary by the number of hours you’re expected to work.
It’s the wrong calculation.
Start with the number of hours you’re expected to work.
Add the time you spend working overtime.
Add the time you spend thinking about work.
Add the time you spend dipping into work.
Add the time you spend preparing for work.
Add the time you spend commuting to work.
Add the time you spend travelling for work.
Add the time you spend recovering from work.
Now find your hourly pay by dividing your salary not by the number of hours you’re expected to work, but by the number of hours work actually takes out of your life.
You’ll find that your hourly pay isn’t what you think it is.
Not even close.
