Your employer regularly recites the mantra: “work hard, play hard.”

The second part of the mantra seems irrelevant to the relationship between you and your employer. What you do outside of work is none of your employer’s business. Whether you run a marathon every night after work or simply collapse on the couch with a beer is up to you.

It’s the first part of the mantra that’s relevant. When your employer says: “work hard, play hard,” what they’re really saying is: “work hard.”
