Because you’re given a hard time for being late

You sat in traffic for an hour on the freeway this morning.

The rain was torrential, but no one had slowed down, everyone had been driving a little over the speed limit, as usual, until the traffic had come to a standstill.

As you crawled past the mangled wreckage of the cars, you wondered about their drivers, already removed to the hospital or the morgue.

How badly had they been injured on their way to work this morning? Had they died trying to get to work on time?
