Daily reasons to quit your job and go your own way - Because vacations are too short

Daily reasons to quit your job and go your own way

Because vacations are too short

You’re permitted three weeks away from work each year. More if you’re lucky, less if you’re not.

After a week away from work, you begin to relax.

After two weeks, your head’s spinning with ideas.

After three weeks, you feel like a different person. I don’t mean figuratively, I mean literally: the calm, thoughtful, open person you are now is nothing like the tense, irritable, closed person you were three weeks ago. After three weeks, you feel like yourself.

Then it’s back to work, and your true self slips away. Within hours, it’s gone, and you’re no longer yourself. You know you won’t be able to recover the person you were only yesterday. Not for another year.
