Daily reasons to quit your job and go your own way
Because the hours don’t add up
You’re expected to spend 40 hours a week at work. Less if you’re lucky. More if you’re not.
It doesn’t sound like much. There are 168 hours in a week, after all.
Except that those 40 hours are the most fertile of the week.
Subtract the hours spent at work without pay.
Subtract the hours spent preparing for work, commuting to work, travelling for work, recovering from work.
Subtract the hours spent getting a good night’s sleep.
Subtract the hours spent buying groceries, cooking, eating, doing the dishes.
Subtract the hours spent washing, cleaning your teeth, sitting on the crapper, cutting your nails.
Subtract the hours spent paying the bills, getting the car repaired, finding a roofer to fix the leaks, managing your finances.
There’s too little left time for life.
