Because of what you have to go through to take vacation

Every time you ask for vacation, you’re given a long list of reasons why you can’t take it.

It’s too short notice.

Too many other people are taking vacation at that time.

You can’t take vacation at the same time as the people you work with most closely.

You can’t leave the project you’re working on unfinished.

That’s our busy time.

You’ll need to check with everyone on your team.

You’ll need to check with every other team.

You’ll need to check with HR.

Even when you’re finally granted your vacation, it’s gracelessly, as if you were wrong even to ask.
