How to quit work
in your twenties

31 August 2022

Sophie quit her government job in her twenties to go into extremely early retirement.

How?

Through her real estate investments, occasional part-time work, and some seriously frugal living.

After moving thousands of miles to the Canadian north to seek adventure, she found herself unimpressed with the office workplaces she encountered there.

Sophie wanted so badly to stop this nonsense. So she asked herself: “What if I retire?“

It didn’t take too much courage. She’d been living frugally for years, feeding herself with rice and beans and acquiring clothes and furniture from The Free Store. She’d invested in two properties, as well as some land on which she’d built a cabin with her own hands.

Liberated from social pressures of working life, Sophie feels like she’s finally allowing herself to be who she wants to be!
